Georg Jensen Kongemærke 1940 – ladies' model in blackened sterling silver - brooch

Original Danish Royal Badge for Christian X, made in sterling silver with red enamel and the king's crowned monogram CX, along with the years 1870–1940.

The Royal Badge was designed by Arno Malinowski for Georg Jensen Silversmithy and launched in 1940 in connection with Christian X's 70th birthday. During the German occupation, the badge was worn as a symbol of national unity and loyalty to the king.

This is the ladies' model, where the badge hangs from two small chains below a horizontal brooch pin.

The Royal Badge was manufactured from 1940 and throughout the occupation years. Proceeds from the sale went to King Christian X's Fund.

Stamped 925 and with the Georg Jensen logo - GJ in a square.

Condition:
